Last updated: April 2026

The 2026 tournament expands to 48 nations and 104 matches. Here is the structure in plain terms so you can follow the draw and the schedule on FoxTrend without getting lost in the numbers.

From 8 to 12 groups

Teams are split into 12 groups of four. Each team plays three group games. The top two in each group advance, plus the eight best third-placed teams, for a 32-team knockout bracket.
